Latest satellite image shows convective activity has become more robust and more consolidate around the low-level center. Wind shear is weakening and upper-level patterns are becoming more conducive for further development. TD 07W should continue intensifying and should be upgraded to a Tropical Storm by the JMA (JTWC already did today) later tonight.

Tropical Depression 07W is now turning northwest under the subtropical ridge. 07W should also continue intensifying and could still become a strong typhoon by early next week. Impacts across Guam and the Mariana Islands are still possible, especially with the threat of rain showers and high surf. Please keep on monitoring the progress of this developing system in the coming days.

We'll have a separate update on Typhoon Noul (Bagyong Dodong) as it moves closer to the Philippine Islands.
