Latest satellite image shows the system nearing the coast of Guangdong Province. There has been no significant changes with the structure. Convective activity remains sparse and concentrated along the southern half of the circulation. Nevertheless, wet weather is still expected for parts of the region.

Tropical Storm Hagibis is now forecast to make landfall later tonight along the Guangdong Province coast and will move near the city of Shantou. Light to moderate rains, gusty winds, and rough seas should be expected and will dominate the weather for the region over the next 24 to 48 hours. Hagibis should quickly lose strength upon landfall and should dissipate in the next two days.

We'll have another update later tonight.
