Typhoon Nari (Bagyong Santi) continues to rapidly intensify as it nears the East Coast of Luzon. The center of Nari was last located approximately 230km north northeast of Virac, Catanduanes; 280km east southeast of Casiguran, Aurora; or about 400km east northeast of Metro Manila. Maximum sustained winds have now increased to 165kph with gusts of up to 205kph making Nari a Category 2 Typhoon!
As of 5am this morning, PAGASA has raised Public Storm Warning Signal #3 for Aurora. Signal #2 for Isabela, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Quirino, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Zambales, Northern Quezon, Polilio Island, Pampanga, and Bulacan. Signal #1 for Southern Cagayan, Kalinga, Abra, Mt. Province, Ilocos Sur, Bataan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Lubang Islands, Quezon, Marinduque, Camarines Provinces, Albay, and Catanduanes.

Again, we're forecasting a landfall to occur in the province of Aurora, near the towns of Baler and Casiguran, later tonight as a strong Category 3 Typhoon. Winds of up to 200kph are possible along the coast. Heavy rains of up to 300mm may also fall across large parts of Luzon in the next 24 to 36 hours.
