Tropical Depression 92W (Unnamed) #1

The Low Pressure Area (Invest 92W) currently moving across Mindanao has intensified into a Tropical Depression. The system was last located approximately 100km southwest of Cagayan de Oro City or about 220km northwest of Davao City. Maximum sustained winds are at 55kph with gusts of up to 75kph. TD 92W is moving west northwestward at 30kph.

Latest satellite image shows the bulk of convection and rainclouds associated with TD 92W are moving across Mindanao and Visayas. The system has consolidated after making landfall in Surigao del Sur last night and has, then, been upgraded into a Tropical Depression by JMA. PAGASA hasn't upgraded this system yet but if they do, they'll give it a local name of 'Bagyong Auring'.

Light to moderate rains, with pockets of heavy rains, are currently impacting Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Surigao, Agusan, and Cagayan de Oro. Rains are also being reported across parts of Samar and the Bicol Region. Some stations have already recorded nearly 100mm of rain since last night and more could be on the way! Landslides and flash floods are possible in lowl-lying and mountainous areas, please monitor the news for the latest warnings from your officials!

Tropical Depression 92W will continue moving quickly to the west. It could intensify a little bit more as it moves into Sulu Sea. Heavy rains will continue across Central and Eastern Visayas as well as across Mindanao throughout today. Some rains may also be observed across Southern Luzon. Up to 100mm are still possible so please stay safe!
