Tropical Storm Maliksi Update #2 (w/ Video)

Here is our latest update on Tropical Storm Maliksi and the newly-formed Tropical Storm Gaemi.

Malikis continues to move across the Pacific and could move near Iwo To and the rest of the Ogasawara Islands by tomorrow. Due to the large size, Maliksi is forecast to slowly intensify over the next few days as it moves northward. By Thursday, the system will turn to the northeast avoiding Tokyo and the Honshu Island.

Forecast Track (NOT OFFICIAL!)

Due to the slow development today and the overall size of the system, we no longer expect Maliksi to become a typhoon. However, it will still slowly intensify and can still bring strong winds and heavy rains as it moves west of the Ogasawara Islands by tomorrow. By Thursday, Maliksi is forecast to turn to the northeast avoiding Tokyo and Honshu. It will accelerate as it interacts with the strong upper-level winds in the region and will be staying well east of Honshu throughout the forecast.

We'll have another update on this system tomorrow.
