Tropical Depression 11W Update #1 [NEW]

A newly-formed Tropical Depression was spotted in the Western Pacific today. TD 11W, was last located approximately 800km south southeast of Guam. Maximum sustained winds are at 55kph gusting to 80kph. TD 11W is moving west northwestward at 10kph.

Latest IR and Microwave images depict improving organization, especially on the lower levels. TD 11W is forecast to slowly strengthen, possibly becoming a tropical storm tonight. It will then track south of Guam by Wednesday and move north of Yap by Thursday.

Based on the latest computer models, TD 11W is not expected to impact the Philippines.
