TD 06W (Egay) Update #2

Tropical Depression 06W (Egay) maintained its strength while accelerating towards the northeast. It was last located approximately 300km east southeast of Boronga, Eastern Samar. Sustained winds are still at 45kph.

As of 11am today, PAGASA has yet to raise a signal warning.

TD 06W continues to struggle with the circulation partly exposed. Flaring convection can be observed on the satellite, mainly to the west. Light to moderate rain bands have begun to make their way towards Eastern Visayas and the Bicol Region.

Based on computer models, we are not expecting TD 06W to intensify significantly. It will remain a depression for the next 12 hours before becoming a tropical storm on Saturday. No landfall is forecast either. By early Monday, it should be well northeast of Aparri. Our forecast track is slightly faster than JTWC based on the latest movement.
