There is an increased chance for a tropical storm forming east of the Philippines this week. A broad area of disturbance in the Western Pacific has persisted for days and numerous computer models are now suggesting this system will likely become a tropical storm in the next 2-3 days. JTWC has also given the LPA a "Fair" chance of development.
While it is still too early to forecast the storm's track, there is a high chance based on the models we're looking at that the Philippines will be affected by this storm late this week.
