Typhoon Juan (Megi )Update #21

Typhoon Juan (Megi) continues to move away from the island of Luzon. It was last located approximately 170km northwest of Dagupan City (as of 5am). Typhoon Juan continued to weaken in the past 6 hours and now has maximum sustained winds of about 165kph and gusts reaching up to 205kph.

Torrential rains are still being reported in Central and Western Luzon, including Manila so expect moderate flooding in some areas. PAGASA has downgraded some of the Signal Warnings so be sure to check their site for the latest. Right now, the provinces of Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra, and Zambales are still under Signal Warning #2.

Computer models are now coming into better agreement for the medium range forecast on Typhoon Juan (Megi). Computer models, as well as different weather agencies, are now predicting a landfall near Hong Kong. It is still 3-5 days away so a lot can change.

Next update will be around 1pm PhT; with the video update (final) to follow shortly thereafter.
