Typhoon Fanapi (Inday) was last located at approximately 300km east southeast of Taipei, Taiwan. It has maximum sustained winds of around 195kph. Fanapi is moving to the west northwest at a speed of 15kph.
Fanapi will make landfall within 12hours south of Taipei, near the vicinity of Hualien; it is possible the typhoon will strengthen further before making landfall. Winds of as much as 205kph is not out of the question. Conditions will deteriorate in the next 6 hours as the outer rain bands and tropical storm-force winds begin to impact the island.
