Tropical Storm Malou Update #5

Tropical Storm Malou is now moving to the north, towards the Korean Peninsula. Malou has struggled to strengthen; maximum winds remain at 65kph. Furthermore, convection is mostly found on the northeastern side of the storm.

We have shifted our forecast track to the east; landfall time has also been changed. There is a better agreement now with the computer models and so we think that Tropical Storm Malou will continue moving north with some intensification possible. It is forecast to make landfall on the southwestern side of South Korea by Tuesday, as a tropical storm. Malou will then continue moving to the northeast, exiting into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday as a weak tropical storm or perhaps a tropical depression.
