TS Kompasu (Glenda) Update #04

TS Kompasu (Glenda) is steadily strengthening as it moves towards Okinawa. The system's structure continues to improve and it could reach typhoon status late tonight, by that time, Kompasu should exit the PAR. There is a strong possibility that Kompasu will move directly over Okinawa by early Tuesday morning as a Category-1 typhoon. It is likely that the storm could intensify further, perhaps into a category-2 storm by late Tuesday/Wednesday. Kompasu should continue moving to the northwest before turning to the northeast and making landfall near the North-South Korea border on Thursday. Note that we are still including Shanghai inside the cone of uncertainty; this is due to a number of models and weather agencies predicting that Kompasu could brush this Chinese city.
