Tropical Storm 02W has finally entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility late this morning (RP Time). PAGASA has named the storm "Agaton" and is the first system for the country this year. Agaton has maintained its strength and is really struggling developing due to high vertical wind shear. It could still intensify slightly in the next 24 hours though. However, expect it to turn north as a weather front moves in, weakening the ridge of high pressure that is steering Agaton at the moment. The front could also bring some scattered showers across parts of Luzon and Visayas by Thursday into Friday. We don't expect Agaton to bring significant rainfall in the country. Agaton will dissipate late Friday into Saturday.
