TS Omais/Agaton Warning #6

Tropical Storm 02W has strengthened a bit in the past 12 hours, and is now a named Tropical Storm. TS Agaton, with an international name of "Omais" now has maximum sustained winds of around 75kph (1-min. avg.) with gusts up to 95kph. Vertical wind shear in the area has relaxed a bit according to the JTWC; coupled with a somewhat favorable jetstream, the convective activity improved near the circulation center.

However, there are no changes in the forecasts with regards to track and/or strength. We still expect the "Omais" to develop a little more in the next 24 hours before turning north, after which it will slowly weaken and will eventually dissipate. The storm will not significantly affect the Philippines so we don't expect PAGASA to issue storm signal warnings.
