Tropical Update

98W Invest continues to slowly develop in the Pacific. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center of the US Naval Observatory has put out a Tropical Formation Alert for the said system. The alert mentioned the organizing Low-level circulation center as well as the continuous convective activity. Vertical wind shear and sea surface temperatures remain favorable for a development and therefore, JTWC has concluded that there is a good chance for a Tropical Storm within the next 24 hours.

Numerical models bring the storm inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by mid next week although landfall seems unlikely. Nevertheless, expect rainy and windy conditions especially along the eastern areas.
