Tropical Depression 02

Tropical Depression 02 continues to intensify in the Micronesian area. The system packs 56kph sustained winds with maximum gusts reaching up to 75 kph. TD 02 is moving Northwest at 28kph. It is expected to pass Yap early this evening (Philippine Time). It is likely to become a Tropical Storm shortly thereafter.

Latest numerical model guidance predicts the system to continue moving northwest and then will then take a turn to the north. This is in response to a weather front expected to move through the area by next week. Therefore, the probability of the system to make a landfall in the Philippine Islands is LOW.
