A Quiet Day At Last

Tropical Storm Ramil continues to accelerate away and won't be a problem anymore for the Philippines. The ridge has assumed control of the system and the "u-turn" scenario brought up yesterday won't be happening, it seems. Public Storm Signals have finally been discontinued for all provinces. The whole country should then expect generally clear skies with occasional rain due to the ITCZ.

Although Ramil has finally gone away for good, another Tropical Disturbance has been spotted well east, in the Pacific Ocean. Strong convective activity and favorable winds make this system threatening. Development is highly likely and it could become a tropical depression in the next 24-36 hours. Model forecasts show the system to approach the country by month's end.______________________
