Tropical Depression 04W (Caloy) Update #1

Issued (12 UTC) 8pm PhT 032214
____________________________

Tropical Depression 04W (Formerly Bagyong Caloy) is now moving into Eastern Visayas. The circulation was last located crossing the southern tip of Leyte Island, at a distance approximately 70km northwest of Surigao City or about 110km east southeast of Cebu City. Maximum sustained winds are at 55kph with gusts of up to 75kph. TD 04W is moving west northwestward at 15kph.

Since PAGASA has downgraded TD Caloy into a Low Pressure Area, all Public Storm Warning Signals have now been dropped by the agency.

Latest satellite image shows clouds in and around the circulation are now moving into parts of Visayas and Northern Mindanao. Some areas may receive as much as 10 to 20mm in just one hour. Up to 100mm in total may fall through the next 12 to 24 hours.

TD 04W will continue moving generally westward and will cross the islands of Bohol, Cebu, and Negros later tonight. The landfall should weaken the circulation by tomorrow. Nevertheless, we expect widespread rains and gusty conditions to continue in the islands mentioned.

We'll have another update tomorrow morning.
