_______________________________

Tropical Storm Jebi (Bagyong Jolina) is now leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility on its way towards Southern China. TS Jebi was last located approximately 630km west northwestward of Manila or about 780km south southeast of Hong Kong. Maximum sustained winds are at 65kph with gusts of up to 85kph. TS Jebi is moving west northwestward at 10kph.

There hasn't been much improvement today with regards to TS Jebi's organization. Strong, yet fragmented, convection continues to form near the low-level center.Wind shear is still light to moderate and upper-air environment seems to conducive enough to allow Jebi to continue slowly intensifying.

Forecast Track (NOT OFFICIAL!)

Tropical Storm Jebi is forecast to continue moving northwestward across the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) over the next few days. Although it is moving away, rain showers are still affecting parts of Western Luzon. We expect Jebi to start affecting Hainan beginning Friday and will last into Saturday. Eventually, Jebi is forecast to move westward possibly affecting parts of Guangdong and Northern Vietnam.

We'll have another update later this afternoon.
