Latest satellite image shows strong convective activity with cold cloud tops that is slightly being sheared to the southwest of the low-level center. The intensity was raised to TS-strength due to the satellite analysis from last night. Bebinca is currently moving south of Hong Kong but is not close enough to bring significant impacts to the area.

Tropical Storm Bebinca is forecast to continue on its northwestward trajectory. It is forecast to make landfall in the Leizhou Peninsula (Guangdong Province) tomorrow afternoon. Heavy rains are possible in the region especially across the island of Hainan. Eventually, Bebinca is forecast to weaken rapidly to a Tropical Depression and then make a second landfall in Northeastern Vietnam by Sunday.

We'll have another update tomorrow.
