TS Kai-Tak (Helen) Video Update #3

NOTE: The latest Signal Warnings (5pm) from PAGASA will be included in our Text Update which will be up in half an hour. The winds in the video are taken from JMA, our wind analysis are higher here and agree more with JTWC.

Latest Video Update on Tropical Storm Kai-Tak (Bagyong Helen) as it exits into the waters of South China Sea after making landfall in Cagayan earlier this morning. TS Kai-Tak made landfall near the Cagayan/Isabela Border earlier this morning. It then moved across Cagayan, passing near Aparri, before crossing into Ilocos Norte and finally heading out to sea. Right now, the convection associated with the storm continues to impact much of Northern and Central Luzon bringing rains of up to 200mm in some areas. Furthermore, the storm is also starting to enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat) bringing rains across Southern Luzon including Metro Manila. Unfortunately, rains will linger for much of Luzon in the next two days at least while the weather in Visayas and Mindanao will be fair. Kai-Tak/Helen will continue to move west northwestward, perhaps intensifying into a Typhoon tomorrow. It is forecast to make landfall near Hong Kong as early as tomorrow evening!
