Tropical Depression 13W Update #3

Tropical Depression remains weak as it moves across the Pacific. The system was last located approximately 1,260km north northwest of Wake Island; it is more than 2,000km east of Japan. Maximum sustained winds remain at 55kph with gusts of up to 75kph. 13W is currently moving northwestward at 15kph.

Convection around 13W has been nearly absent throughout today with only small bursts of activity being observed. The low-level center has also become fully exposed, although the low level organization of 13W remains pretty organized. The system continues to move into cooler waters and slightly increasing wind shear and thus it is not expected to gain much intensity in the future.

TD 13W poses no threat to land in the latest forecasts and will just continue moving northwestward across the Northern Pacific in the next few days. We'll have another update on this system tomorrow.
