As expected, 09W/Vicente strengthened quickly overnight as the circulation was able to consolidate with convective activity becoming more concentrated around the center of the storm. Conditions will remain favorable for intensification in the next two days. Vicente is forecast to peak by Monday afternoon with a strength just below Typhoon status. It will then move into the Leizhou Peninsula in Guangzhou Province in China. It will slightly weaken before emerging into the Gulf of Tonkin. TS Vicente is then forecast to make landfall on the northeastern part of Vietnam by Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

We'll have another update later this afternoon.
