Tropical Storm Kulap has intensified a little while drifting just outside the Philippine Area of Responsbility. Maximum sustained winds are now at 75kph gusting to 95kph. Kulap is moving north northeastward at 10kph.
Latest satellite images continue to depict a very small system with convective activity in and around the center. Poleward outflow channel has been cut off but it looks like several branches of outflow are beginning to be established in the other quadrants.
Computer model guidance takes Kulap towards Okinawa by this weekend although most of them are having difficulties with intensification mainly due to the storm being small. We do expect further strengthening as conditions remain very favorable for development.
