Tropical Depression 10W (Juaning) Update #1

93W has intensified east of the Philippines. Tropical Depression 10W, with a local name of "Juaning", was last located approximately 300km east southeast of Virac, Catanduanes. Maximum sustained winds are at 45kph with gusts of up to 70kph. 10W is moving west northwestward at 15kph.

Light to moderate rains from 10W are now affecting the majority of Bicol and Samar. We are still waiting for PAGASA's latest update for possible Signal Warnings.

TD 10W (Juaning) is in a favorable environment and, therefore, it is expected to continue strengthening while moving east of Luzon. Landfall is not expected to occur until late Tuesday or Wednesday. Nevertheless, rainbands will slowly move northward towards Southern Luzon, including Manila, today.

We will have another update at 3pm today for the latest forecast track for 10W.
