Tropical Update

We are currently watching the area east of the Philippines for the possibility of the development of one to two tropical cyclones in the next few days. Computer forecast models have been consistently showing a tropical system forming over the Philippine Sea and forecast it to strengthen and move northwest.

Right now, JTWC is watching two areas for a possible tropical cyclone formation (west of Guam and north of Palau). Both have developing circulation centers and both are also in a somewhat favorable environment. Based on the forecast models, we have plotted the possible tracks in case either one becomes a tropical cyclone.
