Katring (Chaba) has intensified over the past 12 hours. It is now a tropical storm with sustained winds of up to 65kph. TS Katring (Chaba) is moving norhtwestward at 20kph.
No changes with the forecast. Katring (Chaba) will continue to move northward and intensify. It is forecast to become a typhoon in two days' time; the storm is not expected to affect the country, however. Katring (Chaba) should exit the Philippine Area of Responsiblity by the middle of next week.
