Typhoon Fanapi has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The system was last located approximately 300km west southwest of Taipei, Taiwan. Maximum sustained winds continue to decrease--now at 120kph. Fanapi is moving westward at 20kph.
It is forecast to continue moving west, across the Taiwan Strait. Fanapi might regain a little bit of strength as it moves over the waters. Fanapi is forecast to make landfall near Shantou Monday morning as a minimal typhoon and will then rapidly weaken as it tracks inland.
