Tropical Storm Malou Update #7

Tropical Storm Malou veered to the northeast earlier than expected. As a result, South Korea avoided a direct hit from the storm. Malou is now moving northeast at 20kph, across the Korea Strait. The storm reached its peak intensity early this morning and has since weakened.

(Due to the turn to the northeast, we have shifted our forecast track to the right; timing and strength are generally the same.)

Tropical Storm Malou will continue weakening, eventually becoming a tropical depression before making landfall somewhere in Western Japan. It will exit the country around Thursday as an extra-tropical low.
