Kompasu is now a category-3 typhoon with maximum winds of 185kph. It is moving to the northwest at 30kph. There are no changes in the forecast. It is forecast to maintain its current intensity for at least another 12 hours before encountering stronger winds aloft, as well as cooler sea temperatures. Kompasu is expected to make landfall near the North-South Korean border and pass just north of Seoul on Thursday.
