Tropical Storm Fung-Wong (Bagyong Mario) has maintained intensity as it continues to move slowly towards Taiwan. The system was last located approximately 200km west of Basco, Batanes; 280km north northwest of Laoag, Ilocos Norte; or about 480km south southwest of Taipei, Taiwan. Maximum sustained winds are at 85kph with gusts of up to 110kph. TS Fung-Wong is moving northward at 15kph.
As of 5pm this afternoon, PAGASA has raised Public Storm Warning Signal #2 for Calayan and Babuyan Islands, Batanes Group of Islands, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte. Signal #1 for Ilocos Sur, Cagayan, Kalinga, and Abra.

Latest satellite image shows Fung-Wong is developing a large eye-feature with convective bands wrapping around the circulation center. Meanwhile, southwesterly inflow continue to bring rains across parts of Northern Luzon. Furthermore, strong winds of up to 100kph have toppled trees and power lines across Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte. Nearby provinces are also experiencing similar stormy conditions.
Fung-Wong will continue moving slowly northward tonight and will make landfall in Southern Taiwan by tomorrow morning. Heavy rains and strong winds will end across Luzon tomorrow and will shift north towards Taiwan. Up to 300mm of rain are possible in Taiwan over the next 24 to 48 hours. Even parts of Eastern China will see stormy conditions tomorrow, especially along the coastal areas of Fujian Province.
