Typhoon Vicente Video Update

Here is our latest update on Vicente (Formerly Bagyong Ferdie) which has now been upgraded to a Typhoon. The storm has moved closer to Hong Kong and forecast tracks are now taking Vicente much closer to the city-state than before. Vicente is now located approximately 200km south southeast of Hong Kong, maximum sustained winds are now at 100kph with gusts of up to 130kph. Already, outer bands are affecting Hong Kong and nearby areas. Furthermore, winds of up to 65kph are already being recorded in the region. Vicente will move closer tonight and is forecast to keep intensifying, before making landfall tomorrow afternoon in Guangdong Province in Southern China.

The Video Update is listing Vicente as a Severe Tropical Storm because the winds here are taken from JMA. We are calling Vicente as a Typhoon because JTWC has upgraded the system.

Also included in the update is Invest 93W near Palau which could become a cyclone in the next few days, and finally we take a quick look at the status of SW Monsoon in the Philippines.
