Tropical Storm Nock-Ten (Juaning) Update #15

For update on Tropical Storm 11W, please refer to our other post.

Tropical Storm Nock-Ten (Bagyong Juaning) is now finally out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It was last located approximately 420km east of Laoag. Maximum sustained winds have slightly decreased to 85kph gusting to 110kph. Nock-Ten is moving westward at 30kph.

No more Signal Warnings are posted although mainly light rains will continue affecting some of areas in Western Luzon, particularly Zambales, Pangasinan, and Central and Southern Luzon including Metro Manila. Conditions though should improve today especially in Bicol Region. The SW Monsoon being enhanced by Juaning will also bring scattered showers for much of Visayas and Western Mindanao.

TS Nock-Ten is now accelerating towards Hainan. Latest microwave image is still showing good banding especially on the lower levels. If Nock-Ten manages to recover from the Luzon landfall, it has a chance of intensifying into a typhoon just before landfall. Landfall time will be around Friday midday. It will then continue towards Northern Vietnam by this weekend.

Our forecast track including the Video will be posted at 3pm today.
