Typhoon Malakas is now completing the extra tropical transition. Recent satellite images reveal Malakas is quickly gaining extra tropical characteristics (fronts). It has weakened to a category 1 typhoon with sustained winds of 140kph. Malakas is forecast to become a mid latitude low in 12-24hours.
Malakas will remain a strong extra tropical low for the next 1-2 days. This is the final update for Typhoon Malakas. We will try to keep updating our "Tropical Cyclone Summary" section for the next 12-24 hours.
