Malakas has slightly weakened this past 6 hours and has been downgraded into a tropical storm. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to about 110kph. Malakas is moving to the north northwest at 20kph. Tropical Storm Malakas is expected to re intensify into a typhoon in the next 6-12 hours. It will pass very closely near Iwo To (it could even make a landfall in the island). Malakas will continue strengthening, possibly peaking at 165kph by Saturday, before transitioning into an extra tropical cyclone.
