Lionrock continues to intensify and is now packing maximum sustained winds of 100kph with gusts of up to 130kph. There is a significant change with our forecast. Due to the strengthening of TS Namtheun, there is a possibility that the interaction between these two storms will lead to the absorption of Namtheun by Lionrock. We now forecast Lionrock to continue moving to the northeast, moving very close to the southwestern part of Taiwan. After absorbing Namtheun, Lionrock could intensify into a typhoon before turning to the northnorthwest. More on this on our 2pm update.
