Tropical Depression 02W (Bagyong Crising) is now moving across the Sulu Sea. Heavy rains continue to impact many areas in the Philippines. The system was last located approximately 180km west northwest of Zamboanga City. Maximum sustained winds remain at 45kph with gusts of up to 65kph. TD 02W is moving west northwestward at 20kph.
As of 5am this morning, PAGASA continues to issue Public Storm Warning Signal #1 for Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Basilan, Sulu, and Southern Palawan.

Latest satellite image shows that the main axis of heavy precipitation remains north of the storm's center. This means that provinces in Visayas are experience widespread heavy rains even though they are not under any Signal Warnings. Many areas here have already recorded in excess of 200mm of rain in the past 36 hours causing flooding and landslides. Always remember to coordinate with your local officials for the latest warnings in your area.
TD 02W (Crising) will continue to move across the Sulu Sea today. Breezy conditions along with rough surf should be expected near the circulation center. Now that the system is over warm waters, there is a small chance of slight intensification but we are not really forecasting TD 02W to become a strong cyclone.
We'll have another update later this afternoon.
