Tropical Storm Two barely developed in the past 12 hours. Maximum winds remain at 65kph. It is moving northwestward at 18kph. The system will strengthen still as it nears the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). It will probably peak out at around 85kph (1-min. avg.). By Thursday, it should be about 800km east of Virac. A mid-latitude trough will approach the area during this time frame which will steer the system to the north, avoiding a direct hit to the Philippines. By Friday, the system will slowly weaken and will eventually dissipate. Unfortunately for this storm, we will not see heavy amounts of rainfall that could significantly revitalize dams and farmlands. There will still be light to moderate rain across Luzon which is helpful.
