This blog was conceived while the Philippines is experiencing the wrath of Tropical Storm Ondoy (International Name: Ketsana). Obviously, the contents of this site will not always be reliable and you might be better off trusting PAGASA. However, since the information given to the public is vague, this site will give different perspectives and views regarding a storm. Let's face it, primetime news only give a minute or two for weather forecasts. Only when the effects have been felt that they increase the coverage about the storm. Obviously, there are websites that you can visit if you want to learn more about the current weather; our site will also provide these, but not all.
The title says it all. Do not rely on this site for your
daily temperature, and/or wind forecasts. We will only focus on tropical storms that are threatening to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Information relayed will be the following:
- Wind
- Storm Track
- Precipitation Forecast
- Wave Heights
- Temperature
The site will be updated once a day at around 2pm PST. If necessary, the frequency of updates might be increased. Before wondering, the sources we will use are the following:
- PAGASA
- Model Forecasts (eg MM5)
- JTWC
- Other Weather Websites
We want to reiterate that this is not a real-time source for the current weather in the Philippines. For live updates, we suggest tuning in to your local TV/Radio Stations as we cannot possibly cover every area affected. We recommend GMA, ABSCBN, and ANC for TV.
MAYGBAGYO is another weather website dedicated to tracking tropical storms affecting the archipelago. We recommend you visit this site too in case ours fail to be updated.
We will not be starting our coverage until the next Tropical Storm. So if you want updates for TS Ondoy, refer to other websites.
